Movement for an Open Web has been taking the fight to the tech giants since 2020, with the mission to keep the web open by working with regulators and legislators to hold the tech platforms to account. We believe in a fair and open internet where we can all compete and are not enclosed by the walled gardens.
Can you help us keep the fight going? Please consider a monthly or a one-off donation. Click on the buttons below to go through our GoCardless system.
Alternatively, should you wish to become a MOW Supporter, where you may be eligible to join our steering committee and have insight and input into our work, please email our General Manager for more information.
Our Donation Policy
Donations support our work. They do not buy influence over it.
A donation on its own does not give you access to information about Movement for an Open Web that is not already public. It does not give you a say in our decisions, policies or campaigns.
Becoming a MOW Supporter
We may invite donors who make a significant contribution to become a MOW Supporter. This is at our discretion. Donors are under no obligation to accept.
MOW Supporters get behind-the-scenes information about our work. This includes a deeper understanding of our work with regulators around the world. Supporters may also be invited to join our steering committee.
Becoming a Supporter is a separate arrangement. It is not something a donation entitles you to.
Keeping Your Identity Private
We will keep your identity as a donor private. We will not publish your name or share it with anyone outside the organisation without your permission.
The only exception is if the law requires us to share it. If that happens, we will only share what is legally required.
About Your Donation
Monthly and preset donations are processed securely by GoCardless. Donations of a custom amount are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your bank or card details.
GoCardless or Stripe will share your name, email address and donation details with us. We use these to process your donation, thank you and keep our financial records.
We will not add you to our mailing list unless you ask us to. If you’d like to hear about our work, you can sign up for our newsletter.
You can cancel a monthly donation at any time through your bank, or by emailing jen@movementforanopenweb.com.
Movement for an Open Web Limited (company 12888602) is a company limited by guarantee, not a charity, so donations are not eligible for Gift Aid or other tax relief. A donation is a gift, with nothing given in return. MOW decides how donations are used to support its work, and a donation gives no say over MOW’s positions, campaigns or priorities.
